Bacon Wrapped Party Treats

Just in time for the holidays! This is an amazing treat for your friends. It is easy to do and can please even the pickiest person. It also just happens to Paleo! Woo! I’ve been making this for years, and it is always a holiday favorite. Without, further elaboration, I’m sure you’re all wanting me to get to the part with the bacon. ^__^

Here’s what you’ll need for this holiday entertaining hit:

  • Bacon (and maybe some more bacon…)
  • Whole Pitted Dates (It may do good if they seem rather dry, just soak them in water for 10 minutes.)
  • Artichoke Hearts (an optional alternative that is super yummy!)

Take your package of bacon and cut it in half. Take one piece of bacon and wrap it around a date or an artichoke heart. If you buy the canned kind, look for the quartered. If you decide to splurge at the olive bar and get some fresh, marinated artichokes, cut them in fourths. Arrange them on a cookie sheet and set them under the broiler on high. If you’re not comfortable cooking at such high and fast heat, feel free to do it on low for longer. It took about 10 minutes on high. I did have  few more done. Feel free to flip and keep them in for a few more minutes if they need to be a little more done. The artichokes may still be crisp, but the dates should be sweet and squishy.

Throw these bad boys on a platter with some toothpicks and enjoy! I’m sending you yummy, and quick treats for your friends and family this holiday season from my Common Sense Kitchen to yours. I hope you will try it out and if you do, don’t forget to stop by the Facebook page (at the end of the post) and share a picture. Come back next time and see what the holidays will bring out of this Festive, Common Sense Cook.

P.S. My Friends. I will be trying to post a recipe a day until Thanksgiving! I hope it helps you to get prepared! This after all, is my favorite time of the year.
